Try implementing any, or all, of the following strategies to boost your traffic and land more deals.

You’re not advertising

There’s a common misconception in the web world they if you have a website people will find it and you’ll be flooded with traffic.

Unfortunately, this could not be farther from the truth.

People typically do not just stumble onto your website. (There is some validity to people actually doing this but we’ll tackle this in the third heading).

People need to be told about websites.

There’s a reason why a massive $58 billion were spent last year in digital advertising alone.

In order to get the traffic you so desperately desire you need to be advertising your site.

There's a vast array of different options, both paid and unpaid, available to you when it comes to advertising.

PayPerClick - PayPerClick services are by far the most effective means of attaining quality traffic. You simply select the demographical information you want, choose a budget and they provide the traffic. Yes, you are literally buying traffic. If your website is setup properly to convert this traffic at a higher value than you’re paying to attain it, it’s a win win.

Social Media Advertising - Social Media can be a powerful tool to connect with your audience. But it can also be a great way to drive traffic for your website. Posting links to valuable content on your website can result in a nice influx of traffic. Remember, don’t be pushy or salesy, offer valuable content.

Forums - Forums are a great way to generate traffic. Find out where your target market is hanging out online and become a part of their community. Offer solutions, help them out or offer an out of the box solution. The nice part about forums is that most offer you a place to add the URL to your website. If you have a great article that could solve someone's problem, post it as well.

Get Creative - There is no substitute for good old fashioned creativity. Sometimes the most out of the box traffic strategy can result in big traffic numbers. Why? Because no one else has done it yet. Find unique and creative ways to draw traffic to your site. Essentially, “Growth Hack” your traffic.

There’s no value

One of the biggest reasons that your site may not be getting the traffic you want is simply that it offers absolutely no value.

If visitors find no value in the pages that they land on they will bounce.

Higher bounce rates decrease your search ranking and move you farther down in the search results.

This makes your site more difficult to find and thus will decrease your traffic.

You need to make sure that you’re offering your visitors the valuable content that they are looking for.

As a part of offering valuable content, you should also be offering new content.

Utilizing a blog/news feed can be a great way of generating new content.

One of the great things about new, or revolving, content is that it gives visitors a reason to come back to your website.

Having more visits with lower bounce rates will increase your search score and move you up in the search results.

It will also keep your company/business fresh in the visitor's mind, which means when it’s finally time to make that purchase, you may be the first in their minds.

No SEO strategy

New websites have virtually no search score.

Infact, until Google has the time crawl and analyze your website, you flat out don’t show up.

Regardless, you need to be proactive in your Search Engine Optimization efforts from the start.

You should be targeting the appropriate tags, keywords and phrases.

You should have great content with great meta descriptions and titles.

When the time comes and Google has crawled your site you’re going to be happier with the results.

Combine this with the previous heading and you’ll be off to a great start.


While these may seem like very minor points they really can be quite powerful when it comes to traffic generation.

There are many other traffic generation techniques out there, but these three are really the simplest.
